Senator Woodhouse Attends Cheeburger Cheeburger Grand Opening
By: Senator Joyce Woodhouse
Last week my friends Jahed and Dali invited me to attend the grand opening of their newest restaurant and most recent edition to Henderson’s small business community: Cheeburger Cheeburger. If you enjoy cheeseburgers and milkshakes as much as I do, I strongly suggest stopping by this new local spot!
As the State Senator representing the greater Henderson area, I'm always excited to see new businesses open in our community. As our economy continues to recover, small businesses fulfill an important role for our local economy. I have worked across the aisle with my colleagues in the State Senate, as well as Governor Sandoval, to foster a small business friendly environment. Establishing a strong and dynamic private business sector is vital to our continued economic recovery and helps make Henderson a great place to live, work and raise a family.
Improving and strengthening our economy will be one of my top priorities during the upcoming legislative session. That is why I am sponsoring a bill urging Congress to pass the Marketplace Fairness Act - ensuring Nevada collects its fair share of sales tax on internet purchases. With Nevada facing a budget shortfall and and an education funding crisis, it is crucial we find additional revenue sources while still cultivating a pro-business climate.
Nevada businesses are expanding across our state, creating jobs and growing our economy, and I will continue supporting the efforts of entrepreneurs like Jahed and Dali so we can keep putting Nevadans back to work.
If you’re ever in the mood for a great burger and shake, stop by the new Cheeburger Cheeburger or any of the other great locally owned small businesses in Southern Nevada!
