We spoke to hundreds of neighbors, and not surprisingly, we heard time and time again their concerns about the economy, their job security, and whether or not they will be able to continue providing for their loved ones.  As a member of the Senate Finance Committee, I understand their concern.  Last session, I heard first-hand the testimony of those Nevadans affected most by this economic crisis.  Nevada is facing an uphill battle to get our economy back on track, but I am confident that despite our many obstacles, we can overcome this battle and thrive once again. Neighbors told us they were concerned about their children and their grandchildren's education.  This is a concern I understand intimately.  I spent 40 years of my life working to ensure Nevada's children received the education they deserve.  As a teacher, principal, and program administrator, I have spent my life making sure every Nevada child has an opportunity to succeed. As your State Senator, I have also spent the past three years fighting to improve our schools so our children have a productive and safe environment in which to learn. As long as there are children in need, I will be fighting for them.

Although we had the opportunity to speak with so many, I know there are so many more stories and concerns to hear and questions to answer.  I want to hear from you.
